C<\/strong>ompared to the epic high melodrama of Thai politics, Singapore seems tame. But you\u2019d be surprised. There may be less scope for emoting but the tectonic shifts over there are just as threateningly grand.<\/p>\n

Green Zeng\u2019s images of internal exile burst at the seams with longing\u2014a terrible wasting disease of homesickness for a home you can\u2019t return to; it seems to be right there in front of you but it no longer exists.<\/p>\n

Foundation Cinema Oasis is thrilled to celebrate the work of this devastating multi-disciplinary artist from Singapore, with the Thai Premiere of his searing feature film \u2018The Return<\/em>\u2019 at Cinema Oasis and the photographic exhibition \u2018An Exile Revisits the City<\/em>\u2019 and video installation \u2018Student Reconstruction<\/em>\u2019 of forced TV confessions of political detainees, at Galerie Oasis from 4 May to 2 June 2019<\/p>\n

G<\/strong>reen Zeng will be here in person to give a MovieTalk \/ ArtTalk, in English with Thai translation, with Q & A, on 4 May at Cinema Oasis. This is a wonderful opportunity to hear from the soulful and unfettered voices of Singapore.<\/p>\n
