Shibari is the traditional Japanese art of rope bondage. People outside of this subculture often misunderstand shibari. Assuming it is just about restraints and sex. But experienced practitioners will argue that shibari is actually more about feelings and connection.

This independent documentary explores Bangkok\u2019s vibrant shibari subculture through the voices of the community itself. Practitioners speak directly to camera, sharing their personal journeys\u2014what drew them to rope, what sustains their practice, and how shibari shapes their inner lives.

Visually striking and emotionally resonant, shibari is a study in contrast: soft skin and rough rope, vulnerability and control, restraint and release. It can be intimate, meditative, and therapeutic. Shibari also inspires artists, with its beauty, and the pathos of bound figures.

Rooted in mindfulness and creative expression, her approach invites individuals and couples into deeper connection with themselves and each other.

To make things worse, a phantom figure kidnaps him, and subjects him to gruelling, sadistic tortures. Who is doing this to him? Is he destined for bad luck? Or is he being persecuted by his own conscience?
